Our History

1955

Shinji Kashima opened the main store at 23, Sugahara-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka city to make and sell nichrome wires and electrical heat appliances. Kashima steadily continued its business by achieving outstanding sales results during a period of wide-spread investment in manufacturing.

1959

On April 1, the store was reestablished as a corporation by recruiting stockholders, to further expand its business. The corporation was renamed Kashima Shoten Co., Ltd. Achieving outstanding business results by trading with many of the manufacturers in the Kansai region, Kashima Shoten has built a solid business foundation.

1967

Moved and built the new head office in Miyakojima-ku, Osaka city.

1968

Acquired a utility model for multistory cemeteries, and began construction work following a trend for communal cemeteries.

1972

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1975

Started importing raw materials for electric heat appliances and heaters from overseas.

1976

Moved the head office to 1-12-4, Miyakojima Kita-dori, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka city and established the real estate department.

1977

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1978

Made a contract with RAMA Corporation in the U.S. as a general agent for the Far East region.

1979

Changed the company name from Kashima Shoten Co., Ltd. to Kashima Co., Ltd.

1980

Our company president was appointed the director of Japan Electric Heater Association.

1980

Started sales of liquid expansion type thermostats made by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.

1981

Opened a showroom on the 2nd floor of the head office to display a wide range of electric heat appliances from all over the world.

1981

Made a contract with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. to be a sales agent to sell cartridge heaters and sheath heaters made by its Kitchen Appliances Division.

1981

Developed a high-temperature and clean (non-oxidative heat source) lamp heater which had been long-awaited by the industry. Started its production and sales.

1982

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1983

Developed innovative heating equipment for biaxial heat-stretching at the request of the film industry, and supplied it both inside and outside Japan.

1987

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1989

Established sheath heater factory in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.

1989

Established five-storied head office building at 1-10-7, Kita-dori, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka city. Moved the showroom to the 2nd floor of the building.

1990

Developed an innovative patterning equipment utilizing heat at the request of the textile industry, and supplied it both inside and outside Japan.

1992

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1993

Commenced production and sales of a bucket heater that can easily heat water.

1995

Started sales of micro-wave heating equipment.

1997

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

1998

Gained certification from Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET)

1999

Started sales of “Sun Picker”, heating appliances using a carbon lamp heater.

2000

Made a contract with Krupp VDM GmbH to sell electrical heating wires in Europe.

2002

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

2007

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

2008

Succeeded in developing a superfine ultra-high watts density (30W/cm2) cartridge heater.

2009

Installed a centerless grinding machine centerless grinding machine (outer diameter tolerance of cartridge heater: 1 μm)

2009

Establish a division to handle automotive components.

2010

Developed Far-Infrared Panel Heater for clean room, and commenced with sales.

2010

Acquired ISO 9001 certification.

2011

Acquired ISO 14001 certification.

2012

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.

2016

Construction of the third building is completed for factory expansion.

2021

Laser welding and cutting machines were introduced. We were able to develop new products, improve manufacturing efficiency, and make manufacturing borderless.

2022

Yuji Kashima is appointed vice president of the Japan Electric Heater Association.

2022

Received a corporate tax payer recognition award from the Regional Tax Bureau.
